Ak-Deevt - Prologue
My name is Ak-Deevt, but everyone calls me Dee. I lost my family to the sea, many years ago. Since then I’ve lived on a distant island, as the apprentice to a master mage. I must admit, I don’t know much about the customs or people of Mote; I’ve always lived a bit removed from it all.
I am a hard worker, though, and very good at finding and acquiring things that are lost. Well, most of the time at least. There was that one time that I…well, nevermind. It isn’t relevant, anyway. I’m often a careful observer, though easily distracted. I can move around a ship or deserted island without being seen or heard, though I’ve never had a chance to practice in these busy streets.
What I’m trying to say, Mr. Elthin, is that I may not seem like much yet, but once I get used to the way the islands work, I’ll be a valuable asset. I can do passably in most magical disciplines, though a few of them I haven’t had any training beyond the bare theory. Just tell me what to focus on, though, and I’ll be ready by the time your expedition leaves. I’m really looking forward to working with you.
Er, yeah, I’m finished. Sorry if I rambled. Alright, I’ll wait to hear from you. Thanks, Mr. Elthin.
